To my fellow members
As you have seen, I have been lax on keeping things going on in the WOW publication,
and I am deeply sorry.
This was brought to my attention by our membership chairman. I think that
we have found a solution.
Joan, our editor (also my wife and business partner) has been straight
out and has had no time for anything. Joanie has asked to be allowed to resign
as Editor, due to our personal and business time requirements, creating a
vacancy.
The constitution and by-laws state,
“Section 6: Vacancies: any vacancy
on a board may be filled by an affirmative vote of the majority of the
remaining board members, even if less than a quorum of the board. A board
member so elected to fill a vacancy shall complete the unexpired term of his predecessor
in office. “
The Board took a vote (no meeting for this purpose is required for a
vacancy by this paragraph) and elected Doug Strange, one of our past editors,
to fill this unexpired term of office, and he accepted.
So Joanie will do the last issue of 2009 (2009-4). There will be
discussions on how to deal with the 2010 issues at the Annual Meeting in
November.
We will need more articles and
information from our members to support Doug and have the publications work. The
editors just cannot take the time and responsibility to come up with all the
info needed for each and every issue on their own. This is a voluntary job and
things in people’s personal lives have to come before getting out a magazine
for the club.
