New 101 Owner

After a long search, I finally became the proud owner of a 1931 101 (45") that had been tucked away for 40+ years. Now the challenge is determining what is correct on it while I ride and enjoy it. My plan was to sort it out and then do a full restoration later. I've purchased the R&O and a Riders' Instruction Manual - a lot of great information! After reading both though, I need some help to understand what I have.

Here's my dilemma, the engine number is 1931 (about  20% into the year), but about everything else looks to be 1930 - rear brake, horn, handlebars, headlight, etc. Given the tough time for Indian that year and that the book says the '31's came out late in the spring of 1931, could this be a frame left over from 1930 with the '31 engine installed? There is also a number  (G136) stamped in the rear frame hub area, which doesn't match what the book says either.

Any thoughts? Thanks for any help!
