re-pop headlamp wiring

I'm using a reproduction headlamp from Reno CZ, a John Brown for a 1930.  It's a nice enough re-pop but I'm curious about wiring it!  This lamp has a second, small bulb in it and I'm not certain if I should wire it...never seen the inside of an original.  If wiring it I could go a few different ways... the 101 wiring diagram shows just two wires into the shell.  One option is to wire the small bulb so that it lights when either HI or LOW beam is lit (I can't see how that would do much), or I could wire it to light when HI or LOW , but not both are lit (and I can't see much use in that, either)  Finally I could wire it separately to use as a daytime running lamp... but that would require a third wire into the shell and a switch to turn it on and off.  I certainly can't be the only one to use a reproduction headlamp, can I?  What have others done....?

I live in Germany and here we use this additional bulb as a parking light.
But it's also fine to use it as a driving light to ease the charging rate of the alternator.
Mostly I use a clip on switch that is clamped on the handlebar like on vintage english motorcycles, so it's easy to tear down again.

Thanks Manny!  I thought of another option, too.  I could wire the small bulb into the low beam terminal on the dash switch, and not wire the low beam of the big bulb at all, and then just run the low beam/small bulb for daytime running and run the high beam for that very rare occasion when I ride in the dark.  I don't suspect the high beam is all that bright anyway!

But I also like the clip-on switch idea!
