Indian tank logo - waterslide

Hello I've just applied Indian logo on my tank. I produced logo which is not a decal but waterslide -just like original. There is no transparent layer between letters - you apply only the coloured letters on tank. It's so thin that it is hardly noticed with a finger. The letters during application have got transport layer which is thrown away after application- so the distances between the letters are always the same. Application is fast and easy. If anyone is interested I have a few sets left. Maciek

    That looks fantastic.

I recall seeing a video of a Mahindra tractor in India receiving its "decal" brand name lettering after a repainting in what appeared to be a combination of attaching vinyl letters (removing the paper backing) but it was a wet method, keeping the surface and decal wet with mists of water like water slide applications. Like a wet application of vinyl letters.

I was very interested in what that was and how it was done.

    Is that what you have?

Yes. You have to put this blue paper into warm water. Then the transparent foil with letters is free from this blue paper. You put the letters with transparent foil on tank. You have to dry it and after a few hours the transparent transport layer is free from the gold letters. Letters stay on tank, transparent transport foil is out. And you have gold logo permanently fixed to tank. To make it more reinforced whole tank should be painted with transparent lacquer. Maciek

What you describe, Maciek Cizynski, is like I earlier mentioned I saw in a video. I post the link to it but to see it one would need a Fecabook Account I believe.

It a tractor mechanic in India that I follow on faceBook.

Its a decal application method that intrigued.

    I hope the link works.

This guy with tractor have a decals with transport foil/paper. Normal decals made from foil. I have waterslides that on the element stay only the pigment w/o adhesive layer. They are soooo thin.  Like these one from small plastic models.
