    Hi All,

Can anybody out there tell me the crankpin diameter for a 101. I can't seem to find it in the R&O.

    Many thanks...

    Hello nick ,
The pin diameter is 1 inch . If you look on Jerry Greers site he shows many  good diagrams of Indian parts including 101's , great site for checking measurements and what stuff looks like . He has them listed and also think IPE has them too . Ken

Thanks Ken. I looked there and saw that - Mine measures 0.860" which is exactly why I asked... I'm confused!

    Tim,

Is the flywheel assembly the same for 45 & 37 apart from the crankpin?

    I'm wondering if I have a 37 flywheel, but I need a 45!!!!!

    Cheers,

    Nick

    Hello Nick:

I feel like this conversation started in the middle.  So you got your hands on a set of flywheels and you’re not sure if they are 37 or 45 due to the crank pin size?  I guess if it was me, I would measure the stroke on the flywheels to determine 37 or 45 and go from there.

    Best of luck.

    Peace, Bob

Nope, shorter stroke on 37. So you will need 45 flywheels. Truett and Osborn make good ones, I use a Greer crankPin with them, and find I need to mill approx 0.090" off internal boss where  nuts sit to allow clearance for con rod shoulder. They are also 10lbs each, whereasdo originals are 8.5lbs. Many people prefer this sport scout weight, more torque, but I like the smoother, faster spin up of a lighter wheel. Easy to turn them down to 9lbs each, but balancing a little more work.Next pair I do will experiment further.
