No involvement with this sale, just popped up on my watchlist.  Thought somebody might be interested:

I asked the seller for the engine number - he sent the attached photo.  CG1244 - 1928 37CI.  I don't find it in the engine registry.

I'm sure not all 101's are on the registry , good that another one has risen , looks as though it's been in storage a while with bits missing and not   registered ! Nice looking bike anyway ! Best wishes to new owner/rider . Ken

Wonder why the shifter is missing in some of the pictures.  Why doesn’t it have a title?  Says it runs good and yet there is no fuel line hooked to the carb.  Doesn’t look much will be needed to make it a nice daily rider.

I mention this in case the new 0wner (= custodian) will be one of us here. I hope the new owner will save (rescue, restore) the seat. Looks to me like a candidate for reusability if properly treated. It needs what I am doing now to an original Mesinger No. 1 and original pan with a somewhat shrunken and embrittled leather: Treat the leather with Preservation Solutions Leather Rejuvenator (2-day strengthening process), press the leather back into shape, line the leather with bonded new vegetable tanned leather, rivet a leather edging to pan, hand stitch the lined original leather to the edging (only the lining leather gets the stitches).

OK Yes. The seat is an orphan, not off a particular 101. However, my 1931 101 has a older reproduction, which is nice, but I am planning on substituting that with this original that should be safely reusable without damaging its old leather. But I have been photodocumenting the process and will write it up for WOW or whatever.
