I wrote an article a while back that made it's way into both the WOW and my AMCA chapter website. I recently received some feedback from a gentleman who read the AMCA version, and reached out to let me know that he could bring my DU5 back to life. I had received his contact information from Kent Thompson a while back, but never reached out to him. I'm running a total loss electrical system (battery powering a LED headlight and LED tail/Brake light), so my generator is just for looks. He gave references of Al Strobel, George Letorny, and Randy Walker.
Here's his email to me:
Sir: Good afternoon. My name is Irving E. Truax Jr. (Just Irv) and I live in Henderson, NV (originally from upstate, NY). I'm not sure Who wrote the article about His Indian 101 Scout project with the non-working Splitdorf DU5 generator, but I just wanted to let Him know that I work on them and have pretty-much any parts needed. I have new rewound 6 volt armatures, new field coils, bearings, brushes, new brush plates, And the Gene Harper solid state regulators as well other systems that continue to use the 3rd brush. My contact information is: email- truaxmachine@webtv.net, Phone: 702 463 6548. Thank You. Irving E. Truax Jr.
